FREE ENTERPRISE

Tuesday, November 2nd, 2010

Our country, the United States, is founded upon the governing laws of free enterprise.  In the 1700s thousands of immigrants fled from bondage in Great Britain in hopes to start a new life.  Why would they risk the lives of themselves and their families?  They risked their lives for one thing, FREEDOM.  Freedom was worth the price, they would rather die fighting for freedom than live in bondage. Today, we see the same form of government forming around us that our ancestors were willing to die to escape from and yet we sit and do nothing.  Most Americans take free enterprise for granted, they don’t exercise their rights to be free, the same rights the founding fathers fought for.  It’s despicable and appalling to see our nation slip back into bondage of our own government.  We Americans have prided ourselves on the strength and leadership of our nation for centuries.  But slowly and surely we’ve become complacent, and allowed a few power-hungry men to take over a REPUBLIC nation (a nation ruled by the people, not the government).  We have learned to point fingers of blame and pass the fault off as an excuse to whomever is in office; when in reality we should be ashamed of ourselves because after all, we put them there.  Most Americans have hardly taken initiative to educate themselves on the political candidates who have run for office and instead have cast votes based on illegitimate reasons.

Our nation was founded on free enterprise and capitalism with little government sanctions and control.  Today, those same freedoms which our nation was founded on (and has thrived on) are being threatened by power-hungry individuals in our government. We need to act now before it’s too late, before there has been irreparable damage to our nation and our freedoms. Get out there and vote!
